Believing is Everything

This team won fewer regular-season games than any other team to win the World Series in major league baseball history. They lost 10 of their last 14 games in the regular season and, with some luck, fell into the postseason playoffs. The best player on the team barely even made a difference. A large portion of the team was injured to one degree or another. The World Series Most Valuable Player is my height, 5'7", and weighs only 15 more pounds than I do. Some of the worst players on the team stepped up and made the biggest plays.

At the beginning of the playoffs, there was no one in this country who believed the St. Louis Cardinals would win the World Series...that is, no one except for the St. Louis Cardinals. Not even for a moment did they stop believing. They believed the impossible and made it happen.

Never...ever...say never.
